Title: Roofer Skilled Laborer Location: Bethesda, MD Status: Full-Time, Regular (DBA) MidnightSun AUS is looking to hire a Roofer Skilled Laborer in Bethesda, MD. This position will provide opportunities to work in a team environment and learn, progress, and contribute to a growing company. Duties/Responsibilities: Moving materials and equipment to the worksite. Ensuring all tools and equipment are safely setup. Operating equipment like drills, pneumatic hammers, shovels, pikes, and other machinery, assisting with various roofing installation procedures. Installing systems according to material manufacturer requirements. Operate a wide variety of construction tools and equipment. Ensure proper safety protocols are being followed while working with all tools and equipment. Work on installing new roofs or repair roofs already constructed Work with tar, asphalt, shingles, gravel, metal, or rubber roofing Work with waterproof rubber or thermoplastic compounds Work on steep-slope roofs Lay, cut and tack roofing materials Comply with all health and safety policies and regulations including all OSHA regulations. Minimum Requirements: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years roofing experience as a skilled laborer. Must be able to operate material handling equipment. Must be able to demonstrate experience installing systems according to material manufacturer requirements. Must be able to operate a wide variety of construction tools and equipment safely. Demonstrated experience installing systems according to material manufacturer requirements. Effective verbal/written communication skills Must work well in a team environment. Current, valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check. Must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance and/or site access as required. Working Environment: This position will typically work at a research institute/medical laboratory Must be able to work in extreme heat in the summer months and may be required to work during heavy rain and other inclement weather Work on steep-slope roofs Team oriented environment Physical Demands: Must be able to operate a wide variety of construction tools and equipment safely. Must be able to operate material handling equipment. Must be able to work on installing new roofs or repair roofs already constructed Must be able to work on steep sloped roofs, bend, crouch, able to lift at least 50 pounds.
