Position Overview Under the general direction of the Manager of SPIRITUAL CARE SERVICES, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Strategic Plan of St. Boniface General Hospital (SBGH), the Roman Catholic Priest/Spiritual Care Provider is responsible for: providing emotional and spiritual support to patients, their families and Hospital staff within the established standards of the Department; representing a continuing respect for the full dimensions of healing (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual and social) and for the dignity of the human person; through active service to the patients and their families in the midst of illness, suffering and loss; providing services within the multidisciplinary team that can range from supportive presence to participation in sacramental ministry, teaching and crisis counseling; participating on committees as required; participating in the Quality Performance activities of the Spiritual Care Department and of the Hospital; and performing other related duties as required.
