Virginia Health Services is hiring a Daytime RN Nursing Education and Training Coordinator to instruct day classes at James River Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located in Newport News, VA. This position is a Full Time teaching opportunity. The RN Nursing Education and Training Coordinator has the following responsibilities: Teaches Nurse Aide classes under the guidance of the Director of Education. Provides in-service education to nursing staff through group and individual sessions. Maintains records of in-service education at all facilities. Monitors facility and staff and provides education accordingly. Assists with New Hire Orientation of clinical staff Promotes and demonstrates positive customer service towards VHS, co-workers, residents and visitors. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and holds current Virginia RN license . Experience/education in Gerontological Nursing required. Minimum of 1-year experience working in Long Term Care. RN license for a minimum of 2 years. 2 - 5 years preferred. Experience teaching adults or the ability to demonstrate competence by completing a state approve Train the Trainer course Computer knowledge preferred. Current driver's license in good standing. Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret information. Must be able to lift, push, pull and move up to 50 pounds. Why join Virginia Health Services?
