As a valued member of our team you will receive: Competitive Pay The ability to work remotely or in our corporate Advancement & promotion opportunities internally Health, dental, vision, and life insurance Additional insurance options: Critical Illness, Long Term, Short Term Disability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, Employee Assistance Program, Legal Shield 401(k) savings plan with match after 1 year Continuous professional training and development 8 Paid Holidays Paid Vacation and PTO available A paid day off for your birthday and work anniversary Employee focused culture with appreciation events all year Employee referral bonus QUALIFICATION: Possess current and active licensure or certification in a health or human Services discipline with a legal scope of practice that permits independent assessment and Two years full-time equivalent of direct clinical care to the consumer and Eligibility to hold a multi-state licenses as needed to meet the needs of the company and At least 1 of the following : A Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio or Certification as a case manager (Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Insurance Rehabilitation Specialist (CIRS), Certified Vocational Evaluator (CVE), Certified Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN), Certified Case Manager (CCM), Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS), American Board of Vocational Experts Certification (ABVE), Case Management Administrator, Certified (CMAC), Case Management Certified (CMC) or A bachelors (or higher degree) in a health or human services related field Prefer a minimum of one (1) year of active case management experience in worker's compensation Maintains continuing education as required to maintain licensure(s) and certification(s) Excellent leadership, verbal/written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and excellent decision making and judgment ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CASE MANAGER The role of the case manager is based upon Ohio BWC PRG, case management standards of practice, URAC, and standards of practice set forth by the state-specific Board(s) of Nursing Be knowledgeable of scope of practice Notify supervisor immediately of any changes in licensure status Notify and educate the injured worker, provider(s), employer(s) and other stake-holders (as applicable and permitted) of the collaborative role of the case manager Serve as the first point of post-injury contact after triage, developing and managing return to work opportunities with injured workers, designated network providers, and employer contacts Assess the appropriateness of the level of care, diagnostic tests and clinical procedures for utilization review on a concurrent basis Work closely with Utilization Review team in coordinating C-9 (treatment plan)/vocational rehab plans ongoing until completion Assess quality and clinical risk issues on a concurrent basis; report any recognized issue to the Case Management Team Lead Assess documentation of medical records for completeness on a concurrent basis Coordinate medical, behavioral and rehabilitation services including but not limited to diagnostics, physical medicine, procedures, health & behavioral assessments, referrals, office visits, surgeries, counseling, Ability to obtain and interpret information appropriate to injured workers' needs as required for assessment, treatment, and patient care services Assess, develop, implement and monitor plan of care--managing complex case management Advocates for the injured worker within the guidelines of PRG Initiate communication and consistently communicate with the injured worker, employer, provider, BWC, and third party administrator (TPA) (five-point contact, which could include attorney for IW/employer) Engages the injured worker in his/her care and treatment plan Provide education and guidance to all parties to the claim; this includes: claim review at staffing's, and/or providing direction to any member of the five-point contact Develop and maintain a positive work atmosphere and support overall team; demonstrate ability to work within a team structure Practice capable and effective problem identification and resolution skills as a method of sound decision making Maintain confidentiality Work independently and efficiently Prioritize activities Provide education and coaching to assist the injured worker to move to timely return to work and the optimal level of functioning post-injury Assist all parties with transitions of care Understand and uphold UniComp philosophy and demonstrate commitment to UniComp's core values: have a sense of urgency, be optimistic, promote independence, and respect human dignity Perform other duties as assigned Practice nursing within the Scope of Practice as designated by the State Boards of Nursing for all active licensures Document actions appropriately in electronic patient record Travel from time to time to attend employer meetings and injured worker field case management visits or other offsite functions
