Parking at a discounted price. About the Position : The Retail Coordinator is primarily responsible for overall supervision and operation of the museum store. The supervisor works with the Director of Business Development to ensure that the museum store provides superior service to all visitors while generating revenue to return to the museum for programs. As a working supervisor, regular tasks such as greeting customers, assisting and sales to customers, are combined with receiving product, visual merchandising, and purchasing. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise staff that work in the store as needed. Essential Job Functions: Responsible product purchasing, merchandise receiving and ticketing Greet customers, answer questions, process sales Observe all policies and procedures for cash and credit card management and record Accept payment for purchases at museum, document sale and give appropriate Assist in training manual Assist in the planning and design of store layout and visual merchandise. Develop, plan and initiate loss prevention Assist in custom product Develop internal and external promotions to drive sales and revenue Manage online Perform returns and T rain part time staff to ensure superior service level is reached. Qualifications and Requirements: Education : Two year degree in business or retail management recommended, High School degree or equivalent required. Experience : At least moderate personal or working experience with children. Retail and/or cash register experience required. Skills : Outstanding organizational skills required for management of cash register including fiscal documentation and hands-on monetary transactions Rational judgment is required for interacting with children, adults and people with special Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, adults and people with special needs. Tactful and professional communication with supervisors, museum staff and guests is Critical thinking skills are required for on the spot decision making and problem solving at the admissions Ability to learn sales Physical Requirements, and Equipment Usage : Requires moderate physical effort including physical and mental stamina necessary in interacting with people for long periods of time. Move consistently about the store attending to visitors' need. May be required to lift up to 20 lbs of boxes for unloading store items. Assistance available if needed. Work Environment, Hours of Work, and Travel Requirements: Weekend availability and scheduling flexibility is required, which may include some evening hours based upon program schedules and events Essential duties of this position will be performed in a museum environment, which includes interaction with the public and exposure to children and Clearances : FBI fingerprint, PA Child Abuse (Act 33) and PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearances are required.
