Respite Caregivers Wanted! Nonotuck is always looking for kind-hearted and nurturing respite workers instrumental in supporting our Shared Living Community. Respite workers offer our members additional support throughout their day, helping them to maintain involvement within their community, explore new interests and cultivate relationships. A respite provider has a flexible schedule, working as many or as few days in a month as they would like. Typical activities for a respite worker may include community activities and involvement, supporting the achievement of goals based on the person’s preferences, and development of new activities and choices. Qualifications: Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with a reliable and insured vehicle. Able to pass a Massachusetts and nationwide criminal background check (CORI and fingerprinting) Strong verbal communication skills Prior experience with people with intellectual disabilities and / or mental health disorders is extremely helpful but not required A team player who is willing to participate as a member of the support team. The Following Resources will be Available: A pay agreed upon by the Respite and Shared Living Provider 24- Hour emergency on-call assistance Support from a Multi-Disciplinary Team (Care Manager, Clinician, RN and Directors) Training on home safety skills, medication management, and First Aid/CPR
