Residential Housing Coordinator - Tanner Project

The Residential Housing Coordinator (RHC) will interact closely with landlords and clients to negotiate potential rental opportunities and to resolve housing related issues and barriers effectively. Eligible participants will include veterans (and their families) who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. The RHC will work with each participant to develop an individualized action plan with the goal of self-sufficiency and long term housing stability. Candidates must submit application by 05/05/2023 in order to be considered for first round interviews. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of this position. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or a related field; and two years case management or social service experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working with veterans preferred. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Driver qualification status required for this position. Valid driver license and insured vehicle available for use on the job with satisfactory drive record for the past 5 years. Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment. This position is subject to MWVCAA'sMandatoryCOVID-19 Vaccination Policy. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and other management as required. Completes participant assessments for the purpose of determining continued eligibility and participant needs and strengths. Develops and coordinates individualized action plans. Collaborates with Peer Support Specialist to coordinate services to participant. Monitors participant progress and maintain detailed and up-to-date case notes. Maintains organized and complete participant files. Develops and maintains positive relationships with local landlords. Identifies needs for Barrier Removal Funds such as security deposits, past due utility bills, document acquisition (ID, birth certificates, etc.), transportation, etc. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities. PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Maintains calm dispositions and regulates emotions when clients, staff, or others may become escalated. Regulates emotions and handles pressure of frequent demands for attention, time and work tasks. Attends and engages in required annual trainings. Specific vision abilities are required of this position. Frequently required to hear and speak. Occasionally operates a motor vehicle as needed to perform duties at sites or client locations. Frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling computers, devices and office equipment. WORK ENVIRONMENT Occasional urgent situations requiring law enforcement involvement and/or paramedic professionals. Close quarters, often with a client population experiencing homelessness, substance us disorders, and/or severe and persistent mental illness, and/or unpredictable behavior. Occasional exposure to trash, bodily fluids and malodorous air. Potential risk of exposure to COVID-19 and other infectious conditions. PPE, face coverings may be required. Indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands. Occasional outdoor environment. * COVID-19 Alert: This position includes performing essential services during the COVID-19 pandemic and potential exposure to others who may be infected with the virus.
