The Residential Assistant provides support services and community support services to consumers with serious mental illness residing in Bridgeway residential facilities. They also implement select aspects of the consumers centered plans with a focus on skulls training in the areas of basic survival and daily independent living skills and assists in the provision of other support services for residents. Develop a respectful, helping and supportive relationship with each consumer to promote recovery and reintegration into the mainstream of community living. Provide individualizing support to connect people to their communities and help them to become contributing community members. provide assistance and support at social events and other community activities. Encourage individuals to make choices and decisions in all areas of their lives and providing the opportunities to learn how to make decisions. Offer support, respect and feedback to other team members, ensuring communication with supervisors and other team members is clear, concise and honest. Be aware of and competent in dealing with medical and emergent needs e.g., seizures, health concerns, allergies, fires, server weather etc. Also be remindful of personal care needs, such as personal hygiene, grooming etc, in a dignifying and respectful matter. Complete progress notes, goal reports and other clinical documentation by assigned deadline. Maintain accurate data collection and timely progress notes. Follow up with required documentation as detailed by your supervisor. Promote and provide activities that develop social and leisure skills within the home environment and through linkage with external resources. Monitor each consumers' mental status and function level, reporting changes to community support specialists or residential coordinator for further assessment and interventions. Provide medication training, and community support interventions as specified in the consumer centered plan. Ensure proper storage and safeguarding of consumer medications maintained in centralized locked location in the facility. Assist with general cleaning and maintenance of the residence as assigned including inventory, requisitioning and purchasing of supplies as needed. Also provide assistance in obtaining transportation to consumers determined necessary by the care coordination team and CCP. At minimum must have a high school diploma or GED and must be 21 years of age or older and meet the DMH credentialing requirements of RSA to work in Mental health related settings. Experience in the human services field is desirable along with experience in working with people with disabilities. Must also have reliable transportation.
