Research Technician I/II -Tonks Lab

Position Description Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated candidate for a Research Technician position in the Tonks Lab. Position Responsibilities The successful candidate will work alongside others on an ongoing project, and will provide assistance with bench work and animal research. Responsibilities will include PCRs, IHC staining, and Western Blots. Applicants must be comfortable with rodent handling. Responsibilities in the animal facility will include administering injections (intraperitoneal, subcutaneous, oral gavage, etc.), performing behavioral assays (Rotarod, Grip Strength), and dissections for downstream tissue analysis. The technician will also assist with animal colony maintenance and organization, as well as general lab maintenance, supply inventory and procurement. Position Requirements EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Biological SciencesEXPERIENCE: The candidate should have prior experience working in a molecular biology, cell biology laboratory, or chemistry laboratory.SKILLS: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
