Position summary: As part of GDM's Research team, the Research Technician works with the Research team by performing various duties necessary to the success of our Field Operations. The Research Technician reports directly to the Research Supervisor. If you have experience with the following, GDM encourages you to apply: Essential Functions General farm labor including planting, maintenance and harvest Trials packaging, trials sorting, crop inventory, staking plots, irrigation and plot maintenance, cleaning seed, sampling, pulling plants, and notetaking Planting, growing, and harvesting responsibilities, including travel to locations around the state and into neighboring states Field maintenance to ensure the crops grow healthy, free of weeds and pests Assist with Warehouse duties as needed including cleaning and general upkeep Qualifications Knowledge of soybean farming / farming practices required 0+ years of experience Ability to operate farm machinery such as tractors, sprayers, and combines Ability to obtain a pesticide applicator license and CDL Associate degree in Agronomy or related field; or farming experience, plus High School Diploma/GED Competencies Team player Organized and effective Proactive Ability to lift 50+ lbs Ability to work without direct supervision in a diverse team environment Ability to balance and prioritize tasks during peak times, along with working extended hours if needed Some Spanish speaking ability preferred What we offer: Growth opportunity Warm and welcoming environment Productive Challenges Robust Benefits package which includes, but is not limited to: Health insurance, vacation days, 401k matching, and catered lunches when you are working from the GDM office!
