Responsibilities * Participate in project planning, recording, and evaluation of data. * Conduct independent scholarly research, developing new methods and protocols under the guidance of a mentor (principal investigator). * Acquire technical, lab management, and grant writing skills. * Participate in seminars, lectures, poster sessions, national presentations, and professional workshops. * Supervise junior lab members.* Assist with other research projects as needed. Education Qualifications Doctorate ( required ) About the Lab: The Sgourakis lab is recruiting a Research Post Doctoral Fellow, to assist with ongoing research projects focusing on the development of cancer immunotherapies against pediatric solid tumors. The lab fosters teamwork to study MHC-I antigen processing and presentation of tumor antigens, interactions with molecular chaperones and the design of synthetic receptors for targeted recognition of specific HLA tumor antigens. We use a range of biochemical, structural, and cellular assays, in addition to computational methods for protein structure prediction and design. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience and skills in mammalian cell culture and maintenance (T lymphocytes and tumor cell lines), lentiviral production and transduction, flow cytometry and data analysis, molecular cloning and DNA production, and protein expression in mammalian-based systems (ExpiF239 cells). Additional experience in ELISA-based immunoassays is strongly suggested. Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented setting, to maintain and keep rigorous lab records and follow experimental protocols is necessary for the position.Interested candidates should sent a CV, Cover letter, and contact information for 3 references to Nik Sgourakis, XXXX@chop.edu.
