UC's annual budget tops 1.65 billion and its endowment totals 1.8 billion. Job Overview The Division of Cardiovascular Health and Diseases is recruiting a full time Research Assistant. The position will work under the general supervision of the laboratory Principal Investigator (PI) on sponsored research projects performing standard and complex laboratory procedures in the field of nanoparticle and nanoemulsion manufacturing in support of therapeutic ultrasound applications in cardiac biology. Essential Functions: Schedule experiments in collaboration other researchers according to PI instructions.: Prepare solutions, reagents, or media using standard techniques including calculations, mass balance, and pipetting.: Setup, calibrate, operate, and perform routine maintenance on specialized scientific equipment.: Collect and analyze data using existing approaches in Microsoft Excel and other scientific software.: Organize and centralize files and records.: Maintain accurate and timely record of test results.: Assist other researchers with experiments.: Apply standard quality control procedures to assure accuracy of test results. Required Education: Bachelor's Degree.: Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience 1 year of experience in a scientific laboratory environment. Additional Qualifications Considered: Strong fundamental scientific and engineering skills for the execution of experiments and evaluation of experimental data.: Wet bench laboratory skills including formulation of lipid nanoparticles or hydrogels.: Ideal degree areas include Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biostatistics, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Science, Tissue Engineering, or Bioengineering.
