PRIMARY FUNCTION: Health Care Practice Management was founded in 1992 on the foundation of cultivating relationships with our clients in order to service and provide exceptional medical billing services to support their practice. Our 46 clients, all within 22 specialties, span from DE, PA, MD, and FL. We are seeking a qualified medical biller to expand our company, with the goal of innovating our processes and taking HCPM to the next level. The medical billing position will focus daily on ensuring accurate and timely submission of insurance claims, obtaining missing information, researching denials, following up on claims, collections calls and maintaining compliance with department standards, HIPAA, and governing agency policies and procedure. We look forward to meeting you! ______________________________________________________________________________ PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews incoming encounter information for completeness and requests information from Clients to resolve incomplete forms, if necessary. Accurately keys patient demographics, charges, and payments into the billing software system from input documents (encounter forms, EOB's). Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing within timely filing limits Uploads necessary information to the established portal and uploads to offshore to complete their tasks Reviews and manages offshore portals and review tickets to resolve claims on hold and issue logs raised Performs quality control on charge and payment batches Documents detailed notes on accounts as needed to communicate account status and to document account queries for both internal and external parties. Identifies trends affecting the client's A/R; collaborates with the operational team to ensure the overall health of the client's account and works it daily on a timely basis Reviews the status of open accounts and contacts insurance companies and patients to resolve unpaid claims. Adjusts accounts as needed (i.e., demographic changes, claim resubmissions, etc.) Answers or returns phone call to patient or client regarding account status in a timely matter Set up patient payment plans and work collection accounts Contacts and/or checks insurance company portals to resolve payment denials and claim correction issues Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances Timely processes refunds in accordance with Health Care Practice Management's policy regarding overpayments Files charges and payments in accordance with the current filing methods in place Attends meetings with client and internal team meetings as required Maintains professional growth and development by attending educational seminars as directed Keeps abreast of written communication regarding changes as distributed in the office Assists with creating procedures/process documentation Follows Health Care Practice Management policies and procedures Reports compliance concerns. Participates in corrective action for compliance related issues as needed. Cooperates with compliance auditing, and investigations.
