Requisition Number: 17761 Required Travel: 0 - 10% Employment Type: Full Time/Salaried/Exempt Anticipated Salary Range: $72,392.00 - $95,000.00 Security Clearance: Ability to Obtain Level of Experience: Mid Meet HII's Mission Technologies Division Our team of more than 7,000 professionals worldwide delivers all-domain expertise and advanced technologies in service of mission partners across the globeMission Technologies is leading the next evolution of national defense - the data evolution - by accelerating a breadth of national security solutions for government and commercial customersOur capabilities range from C5ISR, AI and Big Data, cyber operations and synthetic training environments to fleet sustainment, environmental remediation and the largest family of unmanned underwater vehicles in every classFind the role that's right for youApply todayWe look forward to meeting youSummary HII-Mission Technologies is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer in our Syracuse, NY location to help support the C5ISR Systems operationOur team is growing and offers the opportunity to solve challenges that require the experience and expertise of an engineer ready to help deliver more reliable, maintainable, safe, supportable, and affordable systemsWe are called upon to support projects across the United States DoD Services (e.g., Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, and National Guard) and across a diverse array of air, land, sea, and space systemsLearn from and collaborate with our experts that have been at the forefront of RMQSI since 1968 as we directly contributed to and continue to contribute to the development of DoD standards, handbooks, policies, training, and other guidesOur employees have incredible opportunities to work on mission critical systems that impact people's lives today and tomorrowCome join our team and make tangible improvements to the reliability, maintainability, supportability, safety, and affordability of systems that protect our warfighters from air, ground, and maritime threats and enhance situational awarenessWhat You Will Do--- Performs reliability, maintainability, supportability, and system safety analyses for components, assemblies, subsystems, and systems across mechanical, electrical, and software devices. * Performs analyses across all phases of system life cycle to include: concept, design, development, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposalApplies design for reliability, maintainability, supportability, and system safety principles. * Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total life cycle systems management solutions that balance technical, schedule, and cost constraints. * Collaborates with colleagues to perform allocation; prediction; block diagrams and modeling; Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS); Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA); Fault Tree Analysis (FTA); R&M tests and demonstration; reliability growth planning; Reliability Centered Maintenance Analysis (RCMA); Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA); Level of Repair Analysis (LORA); sparing analysis; hazard analysis; system safety planning; and associated trade studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. * Participate in engineering meetings and program reviews to advocate for RMQSI and/or system safety in engineering trade-off process. * Offer working familiarity with applicable DoD and commercial standards, policies, and guides related to development and lifecycle support programs, RMQSI, and system safety. What We Are Looking For--- 2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field; 1 years of relevant experience with Masters in STEM field; 0 years of experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in STEM field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years of relevant experience. * Possession of strong initiative and interpersonal skills, including writing detailed reports and effectively preparing and giving presentations. * Must be able to work both independently and with a team to execute work tasks in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment Preferred: Bonus Points For--- Active DoD Secret Clearance * Familiar with: * DoD acquisition, policies, guides, etc. * Use of common reliability software, such as ReliaSoft, Relex/PTC Windchill, Isograph, and Relyence. * Model-Based Engineering and development of digital twins to perform M&S of RMQSI and system safety capabilities.
