Title: Registered Nurse (Charge Nurse) Company: Children's Habilitation Center Website: https://childhabcenter.com/ Compensation: Commensurate based on experience Classification: Full Time; Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Nursing Supervisor Responsibilities: No Location: 121 W. 154th St in Harvey, IL Shift Options: Day Shift (7a-3:30p), Evening Shift (3p-11:30p), or Night Shift (11p-7:30am) Many opportunities for overtime; longer hours periodically based on organizational needs Purpose: The Registered Nurse ( Charge Nurse) will direct delivery of care to Children's Habilitation Center (CHC) residents while utilizing the nursing process in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in compliance with CHC policies, procedures and applicable Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) regulations. Responsibilities: Supervises shift nurses and team assistants while monitoring their professional needs Coordinates daily administrative duties including nursing assignments, breaks/lunches, and resident care Oversee resident admissions, transfers, and discharges Record and maintain accurate shift reports Mentor and train new staff, providing support and guidance to all staff members Monitor medical charts and provide compassionate care and assistance to residents, visitors, and families Develop/update individual care plans to meet resident needs and achieve treatment goals Perform routine rounding to assess resident condition every 2 hours or as needed Identify issues or emergencies, responding in a calm and efficient manner and assess resident, if resident status has changed. Inform physicians/Nurse Practitioner of any changes in patients' progress, condition or medicinal needs Qualifications: Associate of Nursing degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred Active IL State Registered Nursing license Basic Life Support certification (American Heart) Ability to pass criminal background check and drug testing Experience working with various socioeconomic populations is a plus. Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
