Northwest X Southern Hospitality is looking for a Regional Controller to work with our portfolio of 20+ hotels. This position will be based in our Spokane WA office . The Regional Controller directs the accounting, treasury, reporting and control functions at multiple hotel properties, while ensuring timely reporting of operating results. Summary of position: Develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with all corporate and property related staff. Supervise, develop and counsel property related accounting staff. Monitor all accounting functions at the property level. Work with the property personnel to identify and troubleshoot transactional errors. Monitor credit card sales and chargebacks; ensure chargebacks are refuted in a timely manner. Monitor and maintain loan-related transactions and accounting. Prepare monthly journal entries to account for transactions that do not originate through the Hotel Property Management System. Prepare the monthly financial statements accurately and within the time frames as defined on the corporate closing schedule and according to the Company Policies and Procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and the Uniform System of Accounts. Analyze and interpret financial results in order to assist and advise the General Manager. Maintain balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis with full supporting detail. Maintain accurate cash flow projections on a monthly basis and on request. Manage, monitor, and maintain construction/renovation related accounting when necessary. Ensure all legal, treasury, and tax documentation is properly maintained and secured. Accurately file monthly and quarterly room and property-related taxes. Ensure taxes are paid timely. Work with General Manager and Director of Operations to ensure adequate internal controls exist and are maintained for the protection of the hotels' assets against loss or misappropriation. Successfully perform annual internal control audits at property level; ensure that properties meet internal audit standards. Demonstrate positive leadership qualities that inspire other employees to meet and exceed standards. Assist properties in the application for credit. Full job description available upon request. Minimum Qualifications: BA or BS in Accounting or finance. Three to five years of experience with general ledger accounting. Ability to interpret and communicate financial data. Strong proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft products. Ability to create ad hoc spreadsheets and reports. Able to teach training seminars offered to property level staff. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail. Previous hospitality experienced preferred but not required. M-3 Experience preferred but not required.
