Competition # Posting End Date: September 29, 2023 City: Winnipeg Work Location: Mac Charles Department: Provincial Central Referral & Navigation Office / Community Oncology Program Union: CUPE FS Hiring Status: Permanent Anticipated Start Date: ASAP FTE: 1.0 Anticipated Shift: days Daily Hours Worked: 7.5 Annual Base Hours: 1950 Salary: $20.513, $21.129, $21.762, $22.416, $23.088, $23.780 Job Summary: Under the combined and general supervision of the Provincial Cancer Referral Team Coordinator and Navigation Service Provincial Navigation Lead, the Referral Clerk is responsible for the processing of referrals received at Cancer Care Manitoba. The Referral Clerk compiles demographic and medical information necessary for electronic chart creation and referral triage, assigning, and appointment scheduling for patients requiring outpatient consultation at Cancer Care Manitoba and/or inpatient consultation. In carrying out their duties, the Referral Clerk will communicate and collaborate with the Navigation Services team, Referral Office team, multidisciplinary care team, referring community and patients. Qualifications: Required Successful completion of a recognized Health Unit Clerk course. Minimum two (2) years’ experience preparing charts, scheduling appointments, and communicating with patient and family members in an ambulatory multi-disciplinary setting Basic computer skills including keyboarding, data entry, email, and internet use Experience utilizing an electronic health record Strong understanding of patient-centered care.
