Practice Area: Real Estate - General, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, A law firm is seeking a real estate attorney for its Charlotte, NC location.Job Overview: The Real Estate Attorney will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of real estate closings, drafting and reviewing closing documents, conducting title searches, communicating with clients and stakeholders, and assisting in staff development.Duties:Oversee all aspects of a real estate closing process, including title search, review, closing ceremonies, funding, and disbursements.Draft, review, and comment upon real estate closing documents such as purchase and sale agreements, closing statements, and loan documents.Search and review title to real property, certifying the same to title companies as necessary to obtain title insurance policies for clients.Communicate effectively with clients, brokers, and lenders throughout the closing process.Conduct closing ceremonies according to legal requirements and client expectations.Assist in developing and overseeing staff members involved in real estate transactions.Requirements:0-2 years of experience in the practice of real estate law.J.D. from an accredited law school.An active license to practice law in South Carolina (a North Carolina license is a plus) is required.Effective time management skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex legal and business documents.High level of reasoning ability and an even temperament.Preferred:3+ years of experience in the practice of real estate law.
