Click the links to discover more about each location!- Inova Alexandria Hospital- 4320 Seminary Rd, Alexandria, VA 22304- Inova Loudoun Hospital-44045 Riverside Pkwy, Leesburg, VA 20176- Inova Fair Oaks Hospital- 3600 Joseph Siewick Dr, Fairfax, VA 2203- Inova Schar Cancer Institute - 8081 Innovation Park Dr, Fairfax, VA 22031- Potomac Radiation Oncology Center - 2280 Opitz Blvd, Woodbridge, VA 22191 Requirements for consideration: Radiation Therapist 2- Associate degree in Radiation Therapy or Certification. - 2 years of experience as a Staff Therapist in a Radiation Therapy department with experience in linear accelerators and patient simulation - American Registered Radiologic Technologist required upon start. - VA License required at PROC (Woodbridge) Job Responsibilities: - The Radiation Therapist communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, healthcare team members, supervisors, and outside contacts. - Responsible for treatment modalities and protocols to accurately set-up and administer treatments on a daily basis. - Verifies the proper functioning of linear accelerators, simulators and Computed Tomography machines. - Positions patients for initial treatment and verifies set-up per prescriptions; Verifies beam parameters, ancillary aids and blocking via record and verification systems on machine and patients' computerized treatment plans before initiation of radiation beam; Detects unsatisfactory set-up and/or errors in addition to resolving or reporting such errors to physicians. - Acts as a Liaison between physicians and machine staff by utilizing technical expertise for all difficult/complex treatments on various machines. - May perform additional duties as assigned.
