UBMD Primary Care seeking Quality Specialist to support practice improvements, boosts patient, provider, and team satisfaction while enhancing efficiency. Schedule will generally be Monday through Friday 8-4 pm. Remote work may be allowable based on supervisory approval, after the initial training period with the flexibility of one in-office day per week. Must have excellent communication and multi-tasking skills. Experience in primary care practice where quality improvement initiatives have been successful. Pay range is $18.00-$21.00/hour. Full-time 37.5 hours/week. Any offer of employment is contingent upon successful background check and drug screen. AA/EOE POSITION TITLE Quality Specialist REPORTS TO: Director of Quality Management FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt POSITION TYPE: Full Time Job Summary: The Quality Specialist (QS) is responsible for working with care team members to meet and maintain quality measures set by payers and various regulatory programs, facilitates practice redesign efforts and supports improved patient outcomes. The QS will assist with increasing patient, provider and health care team satisfaction, as well as efficiency within the practice. Essential Functions: Works with Quality Improvement (QI) management team under the supervision of the Director of Quality Management (DQM). Assists the practice in maximizing use of available health information technology resources in order to achieve improved patient outcomes and increased office efficiency in areas such as population management and registry functionality, planned care, care management and coordination of care, goal setting and action planning with patients, reporting of outcome measures and patient safety. Assesses and documents practice progression throughout the transformation process. Conducts pre-visit planning on upcoming appointments to ensure necessary information is gathered for providers. Conducts outreach to patients to close quality gaps and ensure meeting metrics. Assists DQM with reporting for quality and regulatory programs. Assists with facilitating efficient, effective improvement team meetings. Links the practice to available external resources such as consultants, web links and group learning opportunities in order to meet specific needs of the practice. Adheres to HIPAA and confidentiality policies and procedures. Other Functions: Reviews company email on at least a daily basis in order to receive and address notifications and/or other pertinent information in a timely manner. Any other duties as requested or assigned by the DQM and/or other management representative. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice. May be required to travel to other UBMDFM location(s) dependent on company need. Work hours may fluctuate depending on company/clinic needs. Qualifications: Education: Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s or Master’s in health care or related field and/or LPN license preferred. Experience: Coursework or experience in quality improvement and/or facilitation skills preferred. Experience in primary care practice where quality improvement initiatives have been successful. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication and computer skills required, including knowledge of statistical or other analytic software. Must be comfortable facilitating and/or presenting to or within a group setting. Critical thinking skills necessary to evaluate and respond to team progress and anticipate needs. Ability to interact with all levels of the organization and community partners. Working/Environment Conditions: Position is in a well-lit, fast-paced, clean office environment. Office noise level will be mild to moderate most times. Moderate/average indoor temperatures. Travel to various sites via use of personal vehicle as needed/requested. Remote work may be allowable based on supervisory approval. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Light to moderate lifting (up to 10 pounds) may be required. Regular, predictable attendance is required. Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with the essential job functions such as stationary, mobility, operating machinery, convey and exchange information. Equipment: Manual dexterity to operate standard office machines/equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line phone, photocopier, fax system, scanner and/or calculator.
