Description: Astro Machine Works is a growing 100% Employee Owned Company located in Ephrata, PA . Founded in 1984, we are a comprehensive machining and fabrication facility specializing in custom machine building, machined parts and fabrication.Astro Machine Works is seeking full time Quality Control Technician for our growing team. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Quality Control Inspection2. Reporting and Administration3. Individual, Team + Company Participation EXPECTATIONS: 1. Quality Control Inspection a. Perform dimensional inspection using various inspection equipment available including hand tools and CMM equipmentb. Perform visual inspection of parts, including welds and cosmetic acceptance for finishes and secondary coatingsc. Perform material verifications using XRF Technology and Hardness Testingd. Perform in-process review of product traveler/routers for completenesse. Perform light assembly work in support of drawing conformance, ie. Screw Thread Inserts, fit checking of parts, and kitting of parts for shipmentf. Product Identification - Tagging, Laser engraving, Stamping, Dot Peening 2. Reporting and Administration a. Creation of reports for inspections performedb. Generate rejections for non-conforming product found during inspectionc. Reporting of part counts and labord. Assist in maintaining part inventory records 3. Individual, Team + Company Participation a. Interface with other company personnel in the resolution of potential quality problemsb. Adherence to Company Procedures and Processes (Employee handbook, QMS, Safety, and Security)c. Advocate for Astro Quality Policy/Objectivesd. Embrace company Values, Vision, and Missione. Participate in Department and Company meetingsRequirements: EXPERIENCE (LIFE, VOCATIONAL, EDUCATIONAL) * Minimum Education: High School or GED* Post-Secondary schooling (Tech school or College work) preferred* Prior manufacturing experience required* Machine Shop or prior mechanical background work required* Knowledgeable in Blueprint Reading required* Familiarity with GD&T required* Prior experience with Microsoft Excel required* Prior experience in QC work preferred* Experience with CMM's preferred* Familiarity with ISO 9000 and/or AS9100 preferred* Professional Certifications desired (ASQ CQI or CQT) SKILLS (ABILITIES) * Time Management / Multi-Tasking* Judgement / Problem Solving Skills* Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision* Ability to work well with others and contribute within a team environment* Flexible* Adaptable* Customer Service (Internal & External)* Mathematical Acumen* Good Computer SkillsAstro Machine Works is an employee- owned company that values employees for their dedication, teamwork and attention to detail.
