Position Summary The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for analysis of map quality data to ensure conformance to client specifications. The QA Engineer is responsible for the identification of systemic issue improvements through analysis of QC data, database analytics and statistical analysis sustained by implementation of process controls. Main Duties and Responsibilities Analysis of DMP and supplier map quality data Lead root cause and corrective actions using 8D, 5-why, and statistical analysis for top quality issues Provide support to the QC/QA Team with database query design and analysis Establish Process Controls at DMP suppliers, monitor performance and provide ongoing support. Ensure reaction plans are documented in control plans and are followed. Monitor the entire production cycle to identify issues, opportunities for improvement and lead improvement actions Establish PFMEAs and Control Plans at DMP suppliers. Manage and lead ongoing PFMEA & control plan updates, identify and lead risk reduction actions Maintain Quality Documentation accuracy Conduct client-based quality assessments of map data in database format Manage and track flow of data from field to production Skills. Qualifications and Competencies Bachelor’s Degree with major course work in GIS, geography, planning, computer science, information technology, or a related discipline. 3-5 years GIS Mapping experience 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or product development environment Hands on experience using structured problem solving (8D) with demonstrated results Experience with relational database principles including structured query language (SQL). Experience with automotive core tools, APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA Six Sigma/Minitab experience desired Work Environment Works in a fast-paced office environment with multiple priorities and competing demands. Regular office hours with some requirements for additional work during busy times. May work for long periods reviewing data on computer. Assets Experience with LiDAR technologies, GPS and HD Maps a plus. Experience working with clients/customers in the auto industry.
