Quality Control Chemist COMPANY INFORMATION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES This position will report to the Bowling Green Quality Supervisor. The goals of this position are to provide quality control support to the Bowling Green facility. Other duties include: Work collaboratively and cooperatively with other chemists and plant personnel. Analyze incoming raw materials, in-process batches, as well as finished goods using a variety of instrumental and wet testing methods. Determine and calculate appropriate additions to batches. Approve products for release. Approve raw materials for receiving. Handle multiple tests and products simultaneously. Perform proper microbiological plating techniques and reading determinations. Observe all safety rules and work in a conscientious manner. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot lab analytical instruments. Perform other duties as required and directed by the Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or closely related field. Experience in biology, chemistry, biochemistry testing techniques. Must be extremely detail-oriented. Possess strong PC skills including Microsoft Office. Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends. Willingness to work overtime, with or without advance notice. Ability to work as an integral part of a team. Possess strong analytical problem solving and mathematical skills. Must have excellent communication skills. Excellent reading skills with ability to comprehend analytical procedures and technical instructions Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time throughout the 12hr. shift. Considered a plus: Experience with lab instrumentation including GC, HPLC, FT-IR, UV-vis, Brookfield viscometers, and auto titrators. If you’re interested in the position, we encourage you to apply.
