$1,500 sign-on bonus paid through 30 days, 90 days and 6 months of employment.Competitive benefits available after 60 days of employment. PURPOSE: To support the production/operations department in controlling quality attributes and microbiological attributes in order to ensure product that meets or exceeds customer expectations. To ensure that all quality testing of products is performed in an accurate manner to TreeNet Methods, or Intelex controlled procedures by Tech 1's, Tech II's and trainees, and to measure analytical attribute and other requirements to the specification. To participate as a member of the production team as assigned, in order to maximize product quality and production efficiency. To ensure analytical attributes and other requirements are in specification. To meet or exceed regulatory and customer requirements. SUMMARY: To plan, direct, and oversee the daily lab tasks, Tech II's and trainees in lab functions. To ensure adequate inventory of needed supplies is available. To enter analytical results per product/lot/customer into M3 and ensure compliance to company standards are met during shift. To monitor assigned product processes and perform testing to TreeNet Methods or Intelex controlled procedures to ensure product meets all regulatory requirements and customer specifications. To work as a team in cooperation with the line operators and supervision. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices. It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. Maintain knowledge of Production, Quality, and Food Safety Procedures: Demonstrate ability and proficiency to perform all product testing Demonstrate ability to evaluate and correct deviations Learn all new procedures as they develop Perform all procedures per the TreeNet Method , Intelex procedure, or customer/product specifications Apply knowledge during audits to ensure QA compliance Inspect product and product lines to ensure GMPs and PCHF and HACCP compliance Utilize knowledge to assist with improving QA programs Be able to perform all procedures and duties required of a Tech II Communicate Effectively: Communicate any deviations from control limits or specification to Supervision and Process Line Operators Document information communicated regarding process changes on the grade sheet from Operators and Supervision Answer all questions in an accurate manner Advise on possible solutions to problems and deviations Exchange ideas and information to achieve product quality and maximize efficiency Complete paperwork according to Tree Top company standards. Record checks at the time of the check. Train and Oversee Tech IIs and Trainees: Conduct training by providing explanations on lab processes, TreeNet Methods, and Intelex Procedures Update Tech IIs and trainees on new procedures and specifications Assist by providing corrective information to Tech II's and trainees Monitor for effective correct work procedure Evaluate and review progress and capabilities of Tech II's and trainees with QA Supervisor, QA Technical Services Manager and Supervisors Maintain ongoing training in the QA department Schedule Tech IIs and Trainees to Various Processes: Assign duties and process line assignments to Lab Tech II's and trainees Check Inventory and Order Supplies: Maintain adequate supplies Report low inventory to QA Supervisor for reorder Enter Analytical Data in Computer: Enter quality data into M3 and PC Programs Provide feedback to improve computer programs attributes Correct errors in data entry. Notify QA Supervisor of data entry errors Complete Paperwork Accurately: Pull customer specifications from M3 or TreeNet and reference TreeNet Methods or Intelex controlled procedures Record and enter analytical results on the grade records and into the M3 and PC programs Verify correct Status on printed edit sheet Check the grade sheet data against customer specifications. Identify out of specification and place on Status 3 hold. Complete paperwork according to Tree Top company standards. Record checks at the time of the check. Prepare manifest tickets and hold tickets as required. Maintain Lab Equipment Operations and Materials Ensure accuracy of testing by calibration of laboratory equipment, per calibration frequency Prepare needed equipment and supplies for daily use Prepare chemical solutions safely and accurately per TreeNet Methods and Intelex Procedures Industrial and Food Safety Follow proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures/standards. Follow all Haz-Com and Chemical Safety procedures/standards. Follow all Good Manufacturing Practice procedures and standards. Follow all Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point procedure/standards. Wear required and appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times. Identify and address all unsafe conditions and unsafe acts - Report to Supervisor on shift Follow all other applicable safety rules and regulations. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required SKPP Must meet specific qualifications detailed in SKPP: Plant Specific, Skill Block, Performance standards and other criteria. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months to one-year position-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, write, and speak and understand in English, in order to interpret documents such as specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and supervisors. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, averages, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in proximity to moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
