The Purchasing Intern will play important part in making the business decisions for suppliers through the bid comparisons and validation of supplier proposals. There is a lot of learning involved through working with internal and external parties regarding manufacturing process, Market indexes, Economic variables impacting the profit and loss in procurement process. This position will have a detailed techno-commercial exposure through working and implementing the cost breakdowns techniques with suppliers. This position is eligible for a hybrid work model and is located in Burr Ridge, IL. Responsibilities Managing and structuring the RFQ processBuilding drawing database regarding part families, raw material, and weightsManaging Hardware transactionsCommunicating drawings/standards to suppliersBig project resourcing work: there are hundreds of drawings, usage volumes, to be pulled out of system and arranged in meaningful packages for resourcingWeekly/Biweekly review with suppliers to answer their questions timely on a continuous basisProvide feedback for short pays, payments, and pendencyThis position will pay between $20.75-$35.25/hour. Qualifications Must be pursuing an Associate's, Technical, Bachelor's or Post-Graduate Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related degree area.
