Job Responsibilities: Purchase the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in correct amounts. Review requisitions and prepare purchase orders for goods and services required. Expedite orders and communicate with vendors to remedy defective and unacceptable materials as needed. Maintain vendor and material database to ensure records and prices are accurate and up to date. Monthly and annual reporting of scrap metal for EPA requirements. Use good communication skills to provide information to management, department heads and coworkers. Able to troubleshoot to obtain missing information and work closely with managers of other departments to ensure all data is correctly entered. Develop good working relationships with vendors to help ensure quality merchandise and on time delivery. Able to use proper judgement considering the costs and benefits of a potential action. Set-up new vendors in our systems and ensure all required documentation is on file. Any other duties delegated by manager. Job Requirements: Have knowledge of all aspects of the business, including raw materials, production processes, quality control and costs that effect each area. Have good math skills as well as knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures. Cooperative, team-focused attitude Knowledge and understanding of MS Office products, and internet browsers. Able to learn software programs quickly and efficiently. Able to use telephone system and copy machine. Able to follow procedures and written instructions with limited supervision.
