With 14 locations across Canada and Western USA, we will continue expanding and strengthening our steel industry network Cascadia Metals is accepting resumes for a full-time Purchasing Assistant to join our growing team. This is a permanent full-time position and is located at our Delta branch. Responsibilities: Source and obtain price quotations from catalogues and suppliers and prepare purchase orders Compare quotes for items and submit for review or authorization Fulfill purchasing demands, and communicate with suppliers Calculate the cost of orders and charge or forward invoices to appropriate accounts Process purchases within the purchasing authority Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries, resolve shortages and late deliveries, and expedite orders. Prepare and maintain purchasing files, reports, and price lists Communicate effectively both verbally and in written communication with internal resources Assist with coverage for the Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator when needed Other related duties as required Requirements: Post-secondary education and work experience relevant to purchasing or administration Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project Aptitude for learning new software applications with ease Meticulously accurate with data entry Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude Time management skills for day-to-day duties Proactive problem-solver with.
