Description:
PRIMARY FUNCTIONParticipate / lead pump Design & Development and other Engineering projects as scheduled with emphasis on efficiency and cost effectiveness utilizing 3D solid modeling design software such as IDEAS or Siemens NX. Ensures product assemblies, components, and tooling are designed to perform as they are required and continuously look for ways to improve the cost, efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability of these items. QUALIFICATIONSCitizenship - Must be U.S. Citizen or already have work VISAEducation & Training 4 Year Degree in Engineering with 2 years mechanical product design experience or Associates Degree in Engineering with equivalent pump design experience.Job Requirements Working knowledge of pumps, motors, valves, and manifolds, Trained in hydraulic design of Centrifugal or Turbine pumps, Component and assembly design skills, Working knowledge of Casting and Machining processes, 3D Solid Modeling skills, Technical Drawing and Dimensioning skills, Geometric Tolerancing and dimensioning skills, 2D AutoCAD Software (or equivalent), IDEAS / Siemens NX 3D Software, Pattern and Mold design skills, Blueprint reading, Use of measuring equipment (calipers, micrometers, etc.), MS Office, MS Project, Working knowledge of Engineering Change Systems, Working knowledge of Bills of Material, Drawing archiving and distribution (electronic and paper), ability to successfully interface with Draftsmen, Test Technicians, Vendors, and shop personnel.Technical Requirements Ability to develop project timelines, schedule tasks, track scheduled tasks, and analyze costs. Ability to perform Engineering analysis & calculations, visualize & apply complex geometry, apply drawing practices, and apply manufacturing practices. Technical writing skills. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESEssential ResponsibilitiesAll functions of an Engineer plus the following:Develop Project Plans and Track Project Progress.Procure components and materials for development projects.Report status of assigned projects and note potential problems at Design Review meetings.Make certain new product passes validation and verification tests.Procure or create hydraulic designs for pumps.Enter new item numbers in MRP.Enter new Bills of Material for new product in MRP.Release new products for production when approved.Perform Engineering Change functions and maintain Engineering Change database.Process requests for Engineering Deviations.Maintain part number databaseSecondary ResponsibilitiesPerform Engineer, 2D Draftsman, 3D Draftsman, Part Designer, and Product Test Technician duties as requiredAssist other departments with technical mattersProvides feedback on 2D & 3D CAD and CAM software needsAll other duties as assigned REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSProduct/Project Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager
