Practice Area: Employment Law - Litigation Employer Defense, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, A law firm in Sausalito, CA is seeking a Public Safety Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience in labor and employment matters, particularly within the public sector. The ideal candidate will have experience with public safety matters, including the Public Safety Procedural Bill of Rights Act (“POBR”) and the Firefighter Procedural Bill of Rights Act (“FBOR”). They should also be well-versed in labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and administrative proceedings before bodies such as the Public Employment Relations Board (“PERB”). Duties:Handle public safety matters, including POBR and FBOR cases.Prepare labor and employment cases for trial/arbitration and participate in trials, arbitrations, and administrative proceedings.Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and assist clients with employee grievances.Represent clients in administrative proceedings before PERB.Conduct workplace investigations, including interviews and document review.Draft Investigation Reports, Notices of Intent to Discipline, and Closing Briefs.Interface with clients, providing legal advice and strategic guidance.Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis on labor and employment law issues.Support more senior attorneys in providing legal advice and preparing legal memoranda and opinions.Develop litigation plans and strategies. Requirements:3+ years of experience handling labor and employment matters, predominantly for public sector clients.Knowledge of POBR, FBOR, and other relevant public safety laws and regulations. Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Certifications:Admission to the State Bar of California. Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.Proficiency in legal research and analysis.Experience in labor relations and collective bargaining.Client-focused approach with a high level of professionalism.Ability to develop litigation plans and strategies independently.
