In a dd i tion to the c o ntr i butio n s made w i th testing, tra p ping and id e nt i fying genus/s p ecie s , the Fie l d Te c hn i ci a n will a l so re s p ond to c u st o mer s e rvice calls by inspecting bree d ing s it e s and applying larvicide. The Field Technic i an is a seasonal position and sup p orts t he s u m m ert i me mosqui t o c ontrol operation (ge n eral l y M ay- September ) . A DAY I N T HE LIFE OF A FIELD T ECHN I CIAN As a Field Technic i a n , you are r e spon s ible for d riving a c ompany is s ued vehi c le to r etr i eve and c ollect mosquitoes from traps that wi l l b e sorted at Cl a rke's lab fa c ility. Your ro l e will pr o vide i m m ed i ate re s ults a s you help determine nec e s s ary tr e atments, perform mos q u i to i de n t i fication and conduct lab t e sting. You h ave excel l ent attention to detail as y o u gather traps/s o rt s a m ple s , provi d e treatment s , and doc u ment your finding s through accurate data entry . Wh e n you a re n ot c olle c ti n g traps from t err i tory sit e s or ins p e cting / tre a ting cu s tomer ac c ou n t s , y ou are performing i n s pe c ti o n s and ma i ntena n ce on your veh i c l e/e q uipment, atten d ing training, and a s sist i ng other Field Te c hnic i an s .
