The Psychiatrist provides direct psychiatric services including psychiatric evaluations; treatment including prescription administration and monitoring of response to psychotropic medications and provision of clinical direction and/or consultation to other mental health professionals in the development and implementation of the consumers treatment plan. Assures professional responsibility for mental health services and substance use services, as applicable, and is an integral part of the interdisciplinary team. To learn more about this position, please read the summarized list of duties below. Provides for the assessment, treatment planning and prescribing of medications of assigned consumers. Provides referrals to patients for other services within the Bridgeway network, if appropriate or to outside services as needed. Cooperate with appropriate outside referral sources and third party payors and completes required documentation in the specific time frame. Provides direct psychiatric/medical services including a comprehensive evaluation to determine a diagnosis that may be amenable to treatment with psychopharmacological and other medical/therapeutic interventions and provide periodic reassessment/reevaluation. Ensures that services meet accepted community and professional standards of practice including safe medication management, evaluation and monitoring of clients regarding physical illness which may impact psychiatric syndromes or psychotropic medication and appropriate adjustments of medications through regular personal observation and assessment in order to prevent relapse and maintain clinical stability. Ensures that a medication log is part of the client's medical record, and included a list of prescribed medications, dosage of each direction for use, number of refills and signature of prescriber. Masters of Science in Nursing from an accredited university or college; Current valid and unrestricted Illinois Advanced Practice Nurse/Certified Nurse Practitioner License; current DEA registration; psychiatric certification; experience in behavioral health services preferred. Must have reliable transportation. Employment with Bridgeway is conditional based on the completion of all background checks.
