Salary: $73,053 - $92,690 Grade: 21 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. at IRB is seeking a motivated individual with administrative and leadership skills and an interest in understanding the policies, procedures and ethical issues concerning the protection of human subjects in research studies, to serve as an IRB Protocol Analyst. The incumbent will report to the IRB Director and will provide regulatory, analytical, and technical support to the IRB office, the IRB, and Institute investigators. Duties and Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include: Evaluating research proposals and associated documents to ensure completeness and compliance with appropriate federal, state, institutional policies and IRB guidelines. The protocol analyst will manage and coordinate components of the review process, attend IRB meetings and assist in the preparation of minutes and post meeting communications with researchers, compose clear and concise and detailed correspondence with investigators. The incumbent will provide guidance to and assist in educating the NYSPI research community with regard to IRB policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements. The analyst will participate in providing training, guidance and on-going education of IRB members, and other human research related functions and projects as assigned. The individual will be expected to remain current with human research protections regulations including FDA regulations and attend conferences and educational workshops, webinars, etc. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field and two to three years of professional experience serving as a member of a research team conducting research or other experience working in an academic medical center or medical school. A combination of education and experience will be considered. 2-3 years of experience and knowledge related to IRB issues and human subjects research protections. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in an IRB is not required but applicants should have a broad ability to understand medical and research activities and applying relevant federal, state, and local laws and policies. Certification as an IRB Professional (CIP) is highly desired or will be required once eligible. Master's degree preferred. RFMH employees may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 depending on work location and must provide proof of vaccination. Individuals that are not vaccinated for COVID-19 are ineligible for appointment to positions that require vaccination. Fully vaccinated is defined as two (2) or more weeks since receiving either the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or the first and only dose of a single-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson [J&J]/Janssen).
