The hiring ranges are Attorney I: $71,685 - $81,720/year; Attorney II: $75,151 - $85,671/year; Attorney III: $82,400 - $93,860/year, Attorney IV: $89,031 - $101,495/year. The Prosecuting Attorney will perform a variety of professional legal duties as required to expedite the efficient and effective litigation of criminal cases within Cache County. These duties include prosecuting felonies and misdemeanors in district, justice, and juvenile courts; reviewing law enforcement investigations to screen for potential charges; determining the nature of the case and whether charges should be brought; and following established procedures in preparing, processing, and pursuing charges. Qualifications: 2023 Graduates taking the bar in July of 2023 will be considered Prosecuting Attorney I: must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and be a Member in Good Standing of the Utah State Bar or prepared to pass the bar within 12 months of hire, some applicable experience desired. Prosecuting Attorney II: must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and one to two years of experience as a practicing attorney. Prosecuting Attorney III: must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and three to five years of experience as a practicing attorney. Prosecuting Attorney IV: must have a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and six to eight years of experience as a practicing attorney. Please review the Job Description for a full listing of duties. The Prosecuting Attorney is a full-time benefitted position generally working Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance on the first day of employment, retirement contributions through Utah Retirement System, 14 paid holidays, and Personal Leave Time (PLT) accrual of 18 days annually to start.
