Property Technician SUPERVISOR: Property Superintendent DEPARTMENT: Operations FLSA STATUS: Exempt POSITION SUMMARY The Property Technician - Camp NOARK will infuse and model the Girl Scout Law into their everyday work to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the work a better place. The Property Technician - Camp NOARK is responsible for providing general maintenance and custodial services in accordance with the council's policies and standards, such as routine painting, plumbing, minor electrical wiring, grounds maintenance, and other related activities. The Property Technician - Camp NOARK works closely with program delivery managers, volunteers, vendors, and council staff to ensure that visitors experience high-quality trips to the council-owned property. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES  Provides year-round preventative and restorative maintenance in a timely manner and repairs to buildings and equipment within their capabilities in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and painting. Including but not limited to maintaining grounds such as cutting weeds and grass, trimming trees, and clearing brush.  Performs regular security checks to ensure individuals' safety on-site and protect council property.  Demonstrates sound time management skills by effectively and efficiently organizing, prioritizing, and completing multiple assignments in a timely manner.  Conducts regular site inspections and reports findings to the property superintendent.  Records facility and vehicle maintenance/service in accordance with the property department's current procedures.  Meets with some site users upon entering and exiting the site; meets with site users to obtain the number of users and facility needs.  Ensures council-owned vehicles on the property are maintained, serviced, inspected, and registered.  Ensures that you or a qualified service facility do general maintenance (such as changing oil, repairing brakes, etc.) on camp vehicles and equipment.  Maintains the inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies. Also, it maintains an accurate inventory of fixed assets.  Serves as the council on-site representative by receiving shipments, meeting with contractors, and accompanying inspectors and other site visitors.  Oversees the work of all vendors, outside contract workers, and volunteers.  Complies with current insurance, local, county, state, and federal government codes, laws, and regulations.  Keeps proper records and documentation, including chemical records for pool, health inspections, pool inspections, dam inspections, cooler temperatures, etc.  Ensures that the camp adheres to ACA and Safety wise regulations.  Responsible for light maintenance of assigned regional offices/properties.  Assists with providing equine care and program needs.  Performs other duties as assigned.  Prioritizes work/travel schedule weekly under the direction of the Property Superintendent.  In keeping with our commitment to the Girl Scouts Law and Promise, our council emphasizes teamwork, investment in the organization's success, and commitment to each other. Examples may include but are not limited to-membership recruitment/renewal campaigns and efforts, product program logistics and support to include cookie cupboards and volunteer assistance, volunteer appreciation and engagement, retail inventory and delivery (among regional offices), program signature event participation, and support, and property maintenance/improvement as requested. KNOWLEDGE AND CREDENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Required  High school diploma or general equivalency diploma or equivalent experience.  Working knowledge of Microsoft 365.  Valid driver's license and safe driving record.  Ability to travel to different council-owned properties as assigned. Preferred  Experience in carpentry, road maintenance, minor electrical wiring, landscaping, minor machinery repair, and plumbing.  Experience with equine interactions.  Experience and ability to operate heavy machinery using appropriate safety gear.  Knowledge of campsite safety rules and procedures or willingness to learn.  Knowledge of Girl Scout Leadership Experience. ABILITY AND SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS  Ability to analyze, plan, advise, and accept directions.  Ability to work with and supervise volunteers.  Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.  The capability of maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.  Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, sit, and lift for extended periods of time.  Subscribes to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement.  Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.  Strong human relations skills and can work well with people of diverse backgrounds.  Ability to exercise good judgment.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Basic computer skills.  Solution-driven with the ability to effectively problem-solve.
