Description:
JOB DUTIES: Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities for assigned project(s) from inception through project close-out. Provide overall leadership and management of all construction personnel (project team members, office staff, and superintendent field staff) and processes, including pre-construction phase activities such as constructability reviews, value engineering, estimating, budget control, prime contract negotiation, and pre-construction schedule management. Conduct pre-construction conferences, reviews bids and recommends awards of contracts. Work closely with Estimating Team in reviewing contract bid documents, ensuring that bid packages are customized to the specific project being pursued. Maintain a working knowledge of all project details and specifications. Oversee project setup, risk management, document management, subcontractor buyout, schedule management, QA/QC management, change management, submittals and RFI management, financial reporting, and project closeout. Serve as advisor and resource to project staff in resolving operational problems and exploring different approaches to find the best solutions. Conduct regular site visits to monitor project performance, schedule, and expenditures and bring projects in on schedule and under budget. Develop new client relationships as well as maintain existing relationships to secure future projects for Bernards. Actively participate in corporate meetings and assist with the creation and implementation of the goals and objectives of the annual Bernards Business Plan. Perform all other related duties. Requires domestic travel to unanticipated client/project sites up to 20% of the time (within LA County). Salary range: $225,000-$245,000 per year. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Masters degree or foreign equivalent degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field, plus five (5) years of construction project management or related engineering experience.
