A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PROJECT ENGINEER / FIELD ENGINEER As a Project Engineer / Field Engineer, your work is essential to our success. You manage quantity take-offs, prepare proposals, and obtain quotes from suppliers. With attention to detail, you schedule updates and track work performed. You also accurately input costs into our database for full tracking. Highly collaborative, you develop relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and quality control personnel. You assist project managers and other team members with submittals, material management, subcontract management, and project supervision. Additionally, you help with requests for information (RFI) development. You travel to report directly to the job site on a regular basis. Though not a direct supervisor, you do work with the field superintendent and foreman to coordinate and direct work on any given project. On a continuous basis, you work to develop your professional knowledge and abilities. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PROJECT ENGINEER / FIELD ENGINEER Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related discipline Strong desire to work in the construction industry Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel Ability to read and interpret blueprints Willingness to travel to project locations Experience with steel erection projects is preferred. WORK SCHEDULE FOR A PROJECT ENGINEER / FIELD ENGINEER The schedule for this full-time position depends on project needs but is typically over 40 hours/week . You will have the opportunity to report directly to the jobsite, which will require travel during the week . Project sites contain various safety hazards associated with heavy construction.
