Department: Kellogg, ID Job Status: Fulltime Reports to: Group Leader Amount of Travel Required: 10-20% Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday 8:00-5:00 unless needed Positions Supervised: None POSITION DECRIPTION Pioneer is currently looking for an engineer in the category of Project Engineer I (P2) in its Kellogg, ID location. Our Kellogg office is looking for a dedicated and hard-working engineer to join our team that will assist our clients and expand our abilities. The position responsibilities encompass all aspects of environmental remediation, from remedial design, construction oversight and operation and maintenance at remediation sites. Our team uses environmental data collected at each site to design prescriptive remedial actions at each site. Our projects typically revolve around legacy mine site remediation in the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions. This employee will be required to interact with clients and contractors for remediation projects, including remedial design and design reports, construction drawings, and technical specification development. Applicants should have a working knowledge of CERCLA superfund processes and be willing to learn and work within Superfund Sites. Applicants will be required to complete construction oversight activities as part of their job duties. Depending on the labor category of the individual hired, this position will assist the Project team in the execution of major projects. The Engineer will provide updates to Project Managers as required to implement the projects. The selected individual must possess technical ability necessary to direct and oversee major aspects of individual projects and verifies project(s) are constructed according to the plans and specifications The individual shall communicate with project managers for work completed and assist with coordination between Pioneer and Contractors executing the projects. Minimally, the position requires that you have a bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental engineering and currently hold an Engineer in Training Certificate in the State of Idaho preferred. This position requires a minimum of 4 years job experience. Essential Functions Statements Essential Job Functions: PROJECT AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT Keep personal data updated to reflect current experience, training, registration and professional areas of expertise. Always Represent Pioneer Technical Services to clients and prospective clients in a professional. Assist Project Manager with scheduling of project tasks. Work closely with clients to develop client relationships. PROJECT EXECUTION - DESIGN PHASE Executes specific tasks of the project assigned by the Project Engineer. Typical projects involve environmental remediation and/or civil project design tasks including stormwater, surface water, and mine waste excavation design. Keeps the Project Manager fully informed of what is transpiring with his/her part of the project. Prepare task progress reports to keep the Project Manager informed of the completion schedule and budget for each task. Attend project control sessions, as required. Participate in the firm's QA and QC program, performing project tasks in accordance with company policies and standards. PROJECT EXECUTION - INSPECTION PHASE Under the supervision of the Project Engineer and Project Manager, the selected candidate is responsible for oversight of construction activities to ensure design specifications are adhered to and deviations from approved practices are communicated to the Project Manager and team. Project administration duties include maintaining task files documenting the history of involvement with the project. Monitor safety on the portion of the project assigned. Coordinate surveys during project for payment quantities. FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT Responsible for completion of the task assigned within budget and on schedule. Skills & Abilities Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of experience. Certifications and Licenses: Engineer in Training preferred Skills: In depth knowledge of traditional engineering standards and corporate quality requirements. Expertise in engineering disciplines, design standards, quality control and the ability to work as part of a team is imperative.
