Description Position Details : Full-time, 36-40 hours/week, typically 8:00am-5:00pm. Non-Exempt, Hourly, Non-Union Benefited position after 500 hour introductory period in met. Position Summary: The Project Accountant performs the accounting and financial service functions in collaboration with the Finance and Population Health departments for programs funded by grants or special revenue. These functions include: preparing financial projections and budgets, actual versus budget reporting, reviewing/monitoring of individual grants and transactions for compliance with private, local, state and federal fund requirements, billing and collections, journal entries, and financial grant reporting including preparation of reports for granting authorities and the district's annual report. Position may also be required to verify budget proposals for grant applications. The position will also answer inquiries from external auditors and federal, state and local agencies concerning grant information and to effectively communicate complex financial issues to employees, administrators, auditors, the general public and granting agencies. Requirements Education : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. Experience : At least 2 years of general accounting experience or equivalent experience managing and writing grants. This should include processing complex financial transactions, ensuring compliance with legal or contractual requirements, record keeping and preparation of monthly, quarterly and/ or annual reporting. Job Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to act in a consulting capacity. Working knowledge of various accounting software programs. Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently. Well organized and possessing strong communication (verbal, written) and listening skills. Able to plan, prioritize, and adapt within a multi-tasking environment. Able to function as a positive team member with other Lake Health District (LHD) staff and physicians. Able to manage conflict in a positive and productive manner. Job Posted by ApplicantPro
