Description:
Position Summary: The Program Specialist will oversee the High Awards Program and High Awards Committee, older girl (middle-high school age) leadership programs, college and career readiness events and series, and oversee the Girl Advisory Board. The Program Specialist will incorporate current Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) initiatives and the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE) into the development and delivery of the all older girl leadership programs. They will create and maintain relationships with girls, volunteers, community partners, and preferred sites and vendors. Position Qualifications: Minimum of 2-3 years project management and program implementation and/or event planning experience Demonstrated skills in creative thinking, problem solving and innovation Demonstrated skills in administration, budgeting, and teamwork Proven record of accomplishment in developing relationships with staff, volunteers, and community organizations Ability to develop event content to meet council goals Excellent interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with girls, staff, volunteers, and parents Ability to work effectively with persons of every age, sex, racial ethnic, religious, income and geographic group, educational level, and personality type Essential Requirements : This position requires registration as a member of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. Bachelor's degree with concentration in related field or equivalent experience Knowledge of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A. and the requirements for girls to earn Highest Awards: Bronze, Silver and Gold or the willingness to learn Experience in working with volunteers and middle-high school aged girls Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as, the ability to learn additional computer programs Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Work schedule that will include evening and weekend hours Salary Range: $42,000 - $50,000
