Job Title: Program Manager The Position: The Program Manager will organize and lead the execution of complex New Product Development programs within Headwall R&D, which is advancing the field of hyperspectral imaging by providing components, instruments, software, and fully integrated solutions to address the needs of our customers in the remote sensing, machine vision, and OEM market segments. The Program Manager will lead teams to complete projects that span across one or more functional groups in a matrix environment. They will manage resources, schedules, and documentation and adhere to stage gate quality and control guidelines throughout the full project life cycle. This also includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.The Program Manager will manage a variety of projects including new product development, projects to enhance existing product offerings, new software development, research projects, and contracted customer projects. They will manage all project resources, which includes both internal staff and external consulting partners. The candidate must have a proven ability to understand complex problems and requirements as described by customers, product line managers, and scientific and engineering staff. Due to export restrictions, the candidate must be a US Citizen or permanent resident. Roles & Responsibilities: Manage complex projects involving the design and integration of hardware and software components to develop new hyperspectral imaging systems and related products that span one or multiple functional groups with asynchronous timelines Prepare statements of work, resource demand estimates, and detailed project plans for all phases of the projects Lead project teams in the preparation of requirements, cost estimates, and schedules for interdisciplinary engineering tasks Supervise the work of contractors to achieve rigorous project plans, execution of tasks, design review, and completion of products Provide status reporting on project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues Prepare for and participate in comprehensive engineering design reviews Champion the program management function within the company and help build a culture of efficiency and accountability Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence Meet deadlines, sustain superior personal task management, and deliver consistent high performance Occasionally travel to customer sites for product integration and training Skillsets: Required: Ability to formally organize and manage new product development programs involving the design and integration of hardware and software components Proficiency with both Waterfall and Agile (i.e., Scrum) project management methodologies Excellent interpersonal and team management skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Experience and Education: Required: 5+ years of hands-on project management experience leading new product development programs involving the design and integration of hardware and software components. Experience in bringing complex new product ideas from concept to released product. Experience in execution of engineering documentation, from design reviews and requirements documents to failure analysis and risk mitigation.
