Headquartered in suburban Chicago; RCM Industries, Inc. is one of the largest privately-owned custom aluminum die casting companies in North America. Job Summary: The Program Engineer is responsible for the APQP management on new launches which includes but not limited to Quote, Purchasing, Design / approval of Design for die cast and trim tooling, and customer interface. Provides point of contact for customer base and demonstrates the ability to transfer information internally and externally to ensure success of the program. Overall responsibility is to manage tooling programs from Quote to end of life. Essential Job Responsibilities: Demonstrate knowledge of GD&T. Must be able to read and understand part drawings and ability to convert them into Tooling drawings with the ability to establish parting lines & Identify and locate datum's and slide locations. Ability to analyze prints and compare to industry standards. Familiarity with the latest automotive industry standards and requirements. Ability to review layout data with the Quality department and make decisions based on information using statistical tools appropriate for department and information & Interpretation of control charts appropriate to department. Manage APQP activities for assigned projects by performing FMEA's or Value Analysis as required. Monitor and communicate Program timing and progress. Coordinate meetings for but not limited to Tooling design review, status update, and customer interactions. Act as customer point of contact for technical support. Troubleshoot tooling problems in-house. Perform inspection of Dies after sampling and during production for signs of premature failure and necessary corrections. Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Engineering degree or equivalent work experience i.e. five years in die casting tooling environment. Previous experience with AutoCAD (2d drafting) and 3-D Software, i.e. Solidworks, Pro-E, Inventor. Previous experience with MasterCam is a Plus. Previous experience with Flow Simulations, i.e. Magmasoft is a Plus. Demonstrate competencies in the use of Microsoft office. Demonstrate organization skills, project skills and time management skills. Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and present on all levels. Knowledge of LEAN Principles. Ability to work independently and lead groups .
