Program Assistant, Youth Programs Museum of Science, Boston www.mos.org SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Youth Programs Program Assistants will support the Summer Youth Internship Program by assisting in weekly workforce development workshops. Program assistants will work collaboratively with one another and the youth programs staff to plan and execute workshops for High School interns. Program assistants will also cultivate a sense of community for summer youth interns and role model best practices. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in developing and leading 1 full day workshop each week for 7 weeks Assist in planning 1-3 teen teen events for summer youth interns. Assist in SYI orientation session training for summer youth interns Participate in department weekly meetings for 8 weeks Participate in a 3-4 day PA orientation 1 week before the start of the SYI program WORK SCHEDULE: This position is temporary, part-time, 28 hours/week, Tuesday - Friday, 9am-5pm. This position is anticipated to start in late June and run through late August. REPORTS TO: Manager, Youth & Bilingual Offerings MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Successfully completed a previous Youth Internship at the Museum of Science Ability to read, write, understand English; basic math More than 6 months of relevant experience STARTING SALARY: Non-Exempt (Hourly). $15 / hr BENEFITS: Free parking in the Museum garage, T accessibility, free Exhibit Halls admission and Omni/Planetarium shows, free Duck Tours, discounts in the Museum store and cafe, discounted movie passes, retirement & savings plan. VACCINATION POLICY: Staff, interns, and volunteers will be required to show proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment. The Museum will consider an exemption from the vaccine requirement if they are unable to get vaccinated due to a qualifying medical disability or a sincerely held religious objection. The Museum is not required to provide an accommodation or exemption from the vaccine requirement if doing so would pose a direct threat to others in the workplace or would create an undue hardship for the Museum.
