Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Position Description Position Title: Productivity & Sustainability Intern Department: Executive office Reports to: Vice President of Productivity & Sustainability Position(s) Supervised: N/A FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic field of clean energy finance while contributing to The Productivity & Sustainability Intern will play a vital role in supporting the Productivity & Sustainability Team in various clean energy-related projects, inquiries, and initiatives. impactful sustainability efforts. The intern will be responsible for providing support to internal and external stakeholders, anticipating their needs, and assisting with tasks across multiple functions within the division.________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Responsibilities The Productivity & Sustainability Intern will spend the majority of their time in these activities: Assist the Productivity & Sustainability Team with research, data analysis, and report generation for renewable energy- and electrification-related projects. Provide timely and effective support to internal and external customers, addressing inquiries and issues related to WEDC's clean energy financing tools. Conduct research on clean energy finance and sustainability best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies to support divisional objectives. Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and documentation for internal and external audiences. Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting to track the progress and impact of sustainability initiatives. Collaborate with other functions within the division to support and contribute to cross-functional projects as needed. Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and other collaborative activities to contribute ideas and insights. Other administrative tasks, as needed. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Education and Experience: Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a degree program related to environmental science, finance, sustainability, public policy, engineering, or a related field. Prior experience or coursework in clean energy, environmental justice, sustainability, or related fields is a plus. Strong interest in clean energy, environmental justice, and sustainability. Skills and Talents: Ability to organize work, balance multiple priorities and work on a variety of projects in a fast-paced, flexible work environment with strong attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills, sound reasoning, independent judgment and initiative to accomplish tasks with minimal direction and to solve issues/accomplish tasks not requiring the involvement of others. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new software tools as needed. Strong written and verbal communication skills to deal effectively with senior executives, as well as diverse groups of people internal and external to the organization. Proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
