They perform a key role with ensuring that our products are consistently manufactured safely and the specifications of our customers. They are responsible for completing mandatory safety trainings applicable to their specific job assignments, complete all required Food Safety/GMP trainings and assist with product reconditioning as needed or directed.As an organization, we do our best to ensure that our Hourly Production workers are able to master their assigned roles before moving on to other positions within the facility, but that is not always possible. Ideal candidates for these positions must be agile and willing to shift focus and energies as the business demand changes.Starting Pay rate is $19 per hourESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUse an assortment of tools to perform job tasksOperate heavy equipmentBag and Box productMust use proper personal protective equipment effectivelyExpected to work hands-on at high speed and times to lift over 50 poundsMust keep work areas clean and follow proper food safety protocolsInspect meat or meat products and/or packagingStay aware of your surroundings and notify a supervisor if you recognize a hazardOther duties as assignedThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.At least 3 months of relevant experience (Manufacturing, Construction, etc.) within the last 5 yearsWork regularly in temperatures are near or below freezing (Coolers, Loading Dock Freezer)Work in damp or cold conditions (20-30 Degrees-Fabrication)Work in areas that require you to lift, pull, or push 50 lbs.Work with sharp knives or a cutting toolWilling and capable of working overtime when necessaryAvailable to work Day and NightsWilling and capable of working SaturdaysLIFTING/ PUSHING/PULLING 10 lbs. -50 lbs. productionNEUTRAL WRIST-Repetitive hand motions and grasping.REACHING Reaching for product on the conveyor belt with hooks, reaching for boxes, or bagsSTANDING Constant standing for 8 to 10 hours per day, 6 days a week (Loading dock 7 days as needed per schedule.) (2 allowed breaks are scheduled based on the union contract and operational requirements.)WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSProduction and maintenance settingsExposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knivesSlippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noiseAbility to work 40+ hoursGood attendance and safety records The schedule for this position is typicallyMon - Fri. Weekend work required as scheduled.
