Product Manager - Machine Vision Products Overview Headwall Photonics is a US-based photonics technology company with a subsidiary in The Netherlands. We are looking for a Product Manager based in our headquarters in Bolton, MA, who supports us in driving and growing our Machine Vision product line. Headwall builds hyperspectral imaging solutions that address inspection problems across food, pharma, recycling, electronics, mining, medical, and other key markets. Headwall offering includes illumination, hyperspectral cameras, and control and analyzation software. You will play a hands-on role in defining and managing our machine vision product roadmap to maximize its value for our customer's applications. This role will work closely with customers, partners, management, engineering, sales, marketing, manufacturing, and service and support to challenge the boundaries of what's possible and drive new growth opportunities. You are a key player executing our company strategy to make our hyperspectral products more connected and integrated into our customers' workflows. The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, technically savvy, and passionate about delivering impactful user experiences to customers. You will have experience in the machine vision market and/or with analytical instrumentations, preferably in the food inspection market, and enjoy moderating between teams of multiple disciplines within and outside of Headwall and be convincing in face-to-face customer contacts. Success in this role includes a proven ability to bring strong products to market, experience in Product Lifecycle Management, ability to work with engineering and sales teams, and an entrepreneurial drive with an innovative mindset. You must be able to transform quantitative and qualitative data from our customers into insights and strategies to drive product development priorities. You will measure product performance, keep your pulse on the customer, and assess functional market tradeoffs. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, and marketers to help design and develop technologies that improve product performance and market adoption. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Optics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Food Processing, Life Sciences, Advanced degree preferred. Broad technical competency Demonstrated ability to translate market and user needs into technical user stories and transform and communicate technical content into commercially accessible materials Direct experience developing products for industrial products such as imaging systems, analytical devices, or in-line inspection systems. Experience driving and monitoring the full lifecycle of the product Demonstrated experience with data-driven decision making, including competence with market intelligence, competitive assessment, revenue analysis, and usage metrics Ability to influence multiple stakeholders Ability to communicate and present clearly and effectively to influence multi-disciplinary teams and develop strong partnerships across functions to drive measurable operational Able to excel in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability Fluent in English language The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented, competitive individual who strives for constant improvement, enjoys being part of an international team and is open to international travel Responsibilities Identify business potentials Identify and outline market requirements and communicate them effectively within the company Monitor and analyze competitive product and service landscape Write requirement specifications Drive action throughout the organization to get products to market Being point-of-contact for R&D and voice of the market during the NPI process Identify and cooperate with external development partners and suppliers Plan and carry out product launches Manage product-life time Provide insight to stakeholders on the product and market Support marketing in the creation of effective marketing material Support sales with insights on key differentiators and messages Represent Headwall and your product line at exhibitions and conferences Support sales on key customer contacts Working at Headwall Photonics Nothing matters more to Headwall Photonics than teamwork built upon our strong ethical and safety commitments.
