Systems, LLC, in Germantown, since 1961-- a leader in the design and manufacture of loading dock equipment, has a great opportunity for a self-motivated Product Development Engineering Supervisor to join our team. Overview The Product Development Engineering Supervisor coordinates and participates in the deployment of engineering resources in the development of new and improved products. Job Responsibilities Develop a thorough understanding of company products, including appropriate uses, general designs, manufacturing processes, and acceptable design modifications. Utilize project management techniques to drive initiatives to completion. Regular reporting on project status including timelines, costs, and quality. Proactively identify barriers to project progress and present and act on options to overcome them. Utilize strong communication skills to align cross functional areas to support initiatives. Ensure engineering work conforms to technical and organizational standards while meeting or exceeding customer requirements. Supervise, mentor and train product development team for maximum engagement and output. Provide technical guidance and support on production, technical service and product warranty issues as requested. Record and communicate new product and product improvement ideas and participate in product strategic planning. Maintain an ongoing awareness of new developments and trends in our industry that could impact or influence current and future products. Drive exceptional customer experience with our products as part of the engineering design process. Participate in product beta installations. Utilize tools such as 2D/3D CAD, FEA, spreadsheets, ERP data, etc., to facilitate rapid product development that meets or exceeds customer expectations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution. 4 years of work experience in the design and engineering of industrial products including metal fabrication, structural analysis, and hydraulic and pneumatic power systems selection. Excellent interpersonal communication skills Excellent project management skills Strong computer software skills in engineering/ design related software, ERP/MRP, MS Office proficiency etc. Willingness to embrace the Systems and Chamberlain values and behaviors. Limited travel up to 10% of time including visits to Oakbrook, IL and customer sites. International travel may be required.
