The Principal, Quality Engineering will lead our quality engineering efforts and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering, with a focus on GCP native applications, performance testing, and a deep understanding of modern testing practices, including test automation, test data as code, and test environments as code. In addition, this role places significant emphasis on the integration of Quality Observability to ensure real-time insights into software quality metrics. What you will do: Continuous Quality Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and guidance to our software quality engineering team, establishing Continuous Quality as the driving force behind our software development process. Quality Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive quality strategy that seamlessly integrates GCP best practices, performance testing, modern testing approaches, and Quality Observability. GCP Expertise: Harness your expertise in Google Cloud Platform to guarantee the highest levels of quality and reliability in our cloud-based applications. Performance Testing: Lead performance testing initiatives to uncover and address bottlenecks, scalability concerns, and optimize application performance continuously. Test Automation: Drive the automation of E2E customer journeys and establish a robust test automation framework to accelerate testing while maintaining quality standards. Test Data as Code: Implement and uphold test data as code practices, ensuring data consistency and repeatability in testing workflows. Test Environments as Code: Define and manage test environments as code, enabling efficient provisioning and configuration of test environments while maintaining quality controls. Quality Observability: Integrate Quality Observability practices to provide real-time insights into software quality metrics, allowing for proactive issue identification and resolution. Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing software quality and testing efficiency throughout the development lifecycle. Quality Metrics: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure, monitor, and report on software quality and performance, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration: Collaborate closely with development teams, DevOps, and product management to ensure that Quality Observability and quality goals are seamlessly woven into every stage of development. Problem Solving: Leverage strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify the root causes of defects and drive sustainable solutions. Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of test plans, test cases, testing processes, and Quality Observability practices. Who you are: 12+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with a significant focus on GCP-based applications and performance testing. Proficiency in GCP services and cloud based micro services architectures. Experience with performance testing tools and methodologies (K6, Jmeter, GoMock) . Experience with Cloud Native and APM Monitoring tools ( Dynatrace, AppDynamics, DataDog) Expertise in test automation using industry-standard tools and frameworks ( Selenium, EggPlant, Tosca ) . Strong knowledge of automated test data management and test environments provisioning. Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
