Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Cloud & Applications Principal Software Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Software organization. Melbourne , Florida , where we define possible. Accomplish In this role you will design, develop, integrate and test software for our end-user customers and businesses. Specifically, you will be responsible for managing cloud infrastructure tools and data for the Aircraft Ground Systems team. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems Engineering, Cloud & Application, Test Automation, DevSecOps and Systems Test, in an Agile software development environment. You will analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls. Essential Functions Work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative team settings across all levels Participate in the full software development life cycle including requirements, design, implementation, qualification, and delivery of software products to our customers Manage cloud infrastructure tools and data. Manage and improve container orchestration and deployment strategies. Develop tools to manage continuous integration, software stack support, code quality and coverage. Ensure and develop tools for monitoring security, privacy, and integrity of data and other resources. Setup an overall Cloud-native Software Factory Succeed The individual we seek will be self-motivated, proactive, goal-oriented to help us grow our services, become even better at what we do and will possess the following qualifications. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited university. 5 Years with BS; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD Must have proven knowledge of C++ Ability to implement software and scripts in one or more programming languages: C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Go, PowerShell, VBScript, Bash, AND/OR KornShell. Familiar with Software Management and CI/CD tools. Familiarity with at least one of the following Cloud technologies and service providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft (MS) Azure, Google Cloud. Active DoD Secret level clearance OR Top Secret (in-scope), with the ability to obtain (and maintain) special program access (PAR). Preferred Qualifications Experience AND/OR Certification with cloud and container management & security technologies such as: VMWare, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, Redhat OpenShift, Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Nomad. Experience Architecting, Designing, Implementing, Maintaining, and Administrating micro-services for Cloud and Application Systems tracing to user/system requirements using cloud services such as: Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Experience with at least one of the following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Ansible, Puppet, AND/OR Terraform. Experience working in an Agile Framework Differentiating characteristics include demonstrated leadership, teamwork and collaboration capabilities, and strong interpersonal communication skills. Salary Range: $92,600 - $139,000The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
