You will be part of a team alongside a broad array of scientists and engineers working to make these processing solutions a reality. This position is located at our Linthicum, MD location. This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level: Basic Qualifications for Principal FPGA design engineer: - Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field with 5+ years of related experience or Master's degree in STEM related field with 3+ years of related experience or in lieu of degree, an additional 4+ years of experience is required. - FPGA and VHDL experience required. - Understanding of digital logic fundamentals - Ability to read and understand Integrated Circuit (IC) data sheets - Basic familiarity with engineering lab equipment, e.g. oscilloscope - Good attention to detail and self-motivated to learn - Ability to work in teams and communicate clearly across various levels of engineers - US Citizen. Once started, must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal FPGA design engineer: - Bachelor's Degree in STEM related field with 9+ years of related experience or Master's degree in STEM related field with 7+ years of related experience or in lieu of degree, an additional 4+ years of experience is required. - FPGA and VHDL design experience required. - Understanding of digital logic fundamentals - Ability to read and understand Integrated Circuit (IC) data sheets - Basic familiarity with engineering lab equipment, e.g. oscilloscope - Good attention to detail and self-motivated to learn - Ability to work in teams and communicate clearly across various levels of engineers - US Citizen. Once started, must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: - Some understanding of Digital Signal Processing or Image Processing - Some experience with high level programming languages (C/C++) - Some experience with scripting languages (Python) - A strong team player who also has the ability to work independently - Active DOD Secret Clearance Salary Range: $112,600 - $169,000The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
