Ai Layer Labs is a seed stage startup with remote employees, with a subset of leadership based in the greater Seattle area. Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled, US-based Senior AI/ML Engineer with a robust understanding of LLMs and Generative AI. This full-time, remote role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in an innovative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about building solutions at the intersection of AI and blockchain. This individual contributor role reports to the Director of Technology. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop advanced AI/ML algorithms to support decentralized inference systems on 6079’s Proof of Inference protocol ( https://6079.ai ). Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML models into blockchain architectures, ensuring efficient execution and scalability. Lead the optimization of AI systems for improved performance across distributed networks. Conduct rigorous testing and validation of AI models to ensure their integrity and reliability in a decentralized environment. Stay abreast of latest AI/ML research to continuously improve the protocol and introduce innovative solutions. Qualifications: Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a proven track record of deploying large-scale AI systems. Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and especially experience with Torch.AI. In-depth understanding of blockchain technology and its application in AI, including experience with smart contracts and decentralized applications. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects from conception to production. Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
